How does the platform work?

Therapy Panda simplifies the process of finding a therapist. We have useful tools that help you to customise your search around your own personal preferences; so you can quickly find the person you’re happy with - whether that might be somebody your own age, gender or nationality.

Before making a booking, you can learn about a therapist’s background and approach, read reviews from other clients, compare prices and live availability, and even watch videos of the therapists to get a clearer picture of what you might be able to expect during a session.

Once ready, all you have to do is choose an available time slot and then make the booking - it’s as easy as that!

How much does a session cost?

All the therapists work independently on the platform and set their own session rates. Fees are typically based upon their experience, qualifications, and whether they have any other overhead costs (such as insurance or office rental fees).

Some therapists may be willing to offer sessions at a reduced price (depending on your income and financial situation). If you wanted to work with a particular therapist but couldn’t pay their hourly rate, we would suggest trying to reach out to them via the messaging tool to see if they might be willing to reduce their fees.

How do I pay for a session?

To pay for a session, firstly click the ‘Book Now’ button on the Therapist’s profile page.

What if I need emergency care?

Therapy Panda does not offer immediate treatment or advice for people in suicidal crisis. If you are experiencing a crisis, please contact any of the organisations listed below immediately.

Can I have a session online?

Yes, it’s easy to find therapists which offer sessions online - all you have to do is check the ‘Online or In-Person’ filter on the home page.


 

Online Sessions can be held directly through the Therapy Panda platform and the therapist normally offer these sessions as a ‘Video Call’ or ‘Voice Call’ - depending on if you want the camera turned on or not.

How do online sessions work?

  • Online sessions are held within a secure virtual meeting room which you can access through your dashboard. You don't need to install any special software to access the meeting room, simply go onto your dashboard 10 minutes before the session is due to begin and click the green "Enter Waiting Room” button.



  • You can also access the waiting room using the link provided in the booking confirmation e-mail.

Can I meet the therapist face-to-face?

Yes, you can use the search tools on the home page to filter all the therapists near you who offer sessions In-Person.


With In-Person sessions, you can typically meet therapists in a Clinic or Office; however some therapists do also offer other ways of meeting in person, such as Home Visits and Walking Therapy.

What if I need to cancel/reschedule?

It’s very easy to reschedule or cancel a session. Simply go onto your dashboard and click either ‘Change Booking’ or ‘Cancel Booking’


Please note that the therapists you work with have their own specific cancellation & rescheduling policies which are shown prior to booking a session. If you have made a booking and want to double-check their policies, you can find a copy of this within the booking confirmation e-mail you received. If you have any doubts, we would recommend contacting the therapist directly. You are also welcome to contact our team if you need additional support.

What if I don’t like my therapist?

You are under no obligation to keep working with the same therapist if you are not happy. The platform lets you book sessions with as many therapists as you like, and even multiple therapists if the person you normally see is unavailable.

If you want to raise a specific concern about a session you’ve had, or if you need further support, please contact our team via the platform chat.

Can I pay for a friend/family member?

Yes! The best way to do this would be to purchase a gift card which can be sent directly to their e-mail address. This would let your friend or family member book a session with a therapist of their choice, in their own time.

Do you accept Insurance?

We do not currently work with any insurance providers however it is possible to download a receipt instantly from your dashboard, which may allow you to reimburse certain amounts via your health plan.

Some therapists may also work with specific insurance providers - if you would like to check this, we would recommend contacting the therapist and your insurance provider prior to making a booking.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account by going onto your dashboard and then clicking ‘Settings’, then ‘Account’. From there, you can click the ‘Delete Account’ button and this will remove all your personal data from the platform.

 

Please note that, once clicked, the deletion will be permanent and you would have to create a new account if you wanted to use the platform again.
